BWS Industries started in business working for Melbourne Water in 1983 carrying out the repair and manufacture of tunnelling equipment used in the construction of Melbourne's Main Outfall Sewerage Tunnels.

We have since been involved with many tunnels throughout Australia and overseas. From the repair of Tunnel Boring Machine cutters and manufacture of Tail Seal Brushes to the manufacture of California switches and TBM backup equipment. The rebuilding of rolling stock being a speciality.

From sewerage tunnels we have branched out into road and train tunnels, being a major contractor to Transfield-Boygues on the Sydney CBD to airport rail tunnel and to Transfield-Obayashi on the Melbourne City Link project.

The most recent tunnelling project we have been involved with is the supply of steelwork for:

• New Northern sewer project in Melbourne a $600m project for John Holland Tunelling Division
• Melbourne Main Sewer Project a $220m project for John Holland Tunnelling Division
